The Victorian Government has announced the appointment of Theo Taifalos as the new Chief Executive of V/Line, Victoria’s regional rail public transport body.

In announcing the appointment, State Minister for Public Transport Terry Mulder said that Mr Taifalos joins V/Line after serving as Chief Operating Officer of Queensland Rail.

“Mr Taifalos brings with him a strong commitment to passengers and safe operations,” Mr Mulder said.

“Under his leadership, customer satisfaction with Queensland Rail increased significantly, underpinned by a focus on customer service and improving operational performance.

“V/Line has grown rapidly in recent years. V/Line carried a record 15.5 million train and coach passengers in the past financial year.”

Mr Taifalos will commence as CEO with V/Line on 20 May this year.
