Uranium committee set to hand down recommendations
The Queensland Government appointed Uranium Mining Implementation Committee is set to hand down its recommendations on best practice of the development of the state’s uranium assets.
The forthcoming release of the recommendations follows an extensive consultation period, with members meeting with local communities, mining companies and other major stakeholders in the state’s Mount Isa and Gulf regions.
Committee chairman, Peter Bell, told the ABC that the Committee is due to report back to the State Government next month.
