About Our Role

  • Operationally focused logistics / warehousing coordination role
  • Located at our food manufacturing facility in Echuca, Victoria
  • Permanent full-time opportunity

Due to internal growth, we are seeking suitably experienced candidates for the role of Logistics Coordinator to be based at our Echuca food manufacturing facility.  Simplot Echuca employs over 150 locals and produces Australian favourites such as Leggo's, Edgell, Chicken Tonight and Raguletto with the history of the site dating back to 1978.

Reporting to the Production Planner, in this Mon-Fri role the Logistics Coordinator will assume responsibility for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient stock control, storage management and continuous improvement activities.  In addition, the role is accountable for all inwards and outbound goods, including load planning and inventory management.

What You Will Do

In collaboration with the wider site Production teams, duties will include but are not limited to;

  • Manage Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) to a level >  98%
  • Ensure zero variance on stock between Simplot & DC systems for finished goods
  • Assist with load planning
  • Assume responsibility for movement and storage of bulk tomato paste
  • Manage warehouse space & layout (incl. external storage facilities)
  • Attend daily tier meetings with Production teams
  • Set clear direction and schedule daily, weekly & monthly duties for forklift operations
  • Develop & implement procedures for stock handling, storage & documentation
  • Conduct cyclic counting and inventory audits
  • Reporting (daily / weekly / monthly)
  • Contribute to site CI activities

About You

Possessing a people leadership mindset coupled with demonstrated industry experience, the successful candidate will possess the following attributes;

  • Demonstrated experience in a warehousing / logistics management or team leadership role
  • Strong people leadership skillset, with the ability to liaise with / and influence a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to motivate, engage, coach and develop team members
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess an analytical mindset with problem solving acumen  
  • Intermediate user of Windows and Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
