About the role

Working for Central Coast Council in the Water & Sewer team, you'll responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair and construction of water and sewerage infrastructure.

Council will also be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other Crew Member roles within Water and Sewer. 

This position will have a scheduled rotating work roster incorporating day, afternoon and weekend shifts. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Perform operational, maintenance, repair and construction activities in support of water and sewerage infrastructure including water and sewer mains and fittings, reservoirs and pumping stations
  • Assist in resolving works with regard to minimisation of disruption, customer inconvenience, safety and environmental impact
  • Operate plant and equipment required to carry out duties such as excavators, tippers, electrical and pneumatic power tools, power saws, tampers, and chainsaws

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Valid White Card (General Construction Induction Card) – SafeWork NSW or equivalent OR willing to obtain
  • Current Class MR Driver’s Licence or willing to obtain 
  • Commitment to provide excellent customer service to the community 
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills

Other important information

  • This is a Permanent full-time.
  • Multiple roles available across the Central Coast
  • Successful candidates will be required to have vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake and pass a Confined Spaces medical.
